A facebook friend was promoting the book "The Last To Know" by an author who lived in a town in MI that I used to live by. I did not get to go to her book signing as hoped, but did buy the Kindle version. I read through it in only two days because I was so engrossed in the mystery that I could hardly put it down to even sleep at night. I did wonder if this house was one I might have seen in the area the author lives in, since there are many beautiful old houses there. I loved her writing style that grabs you from the very first page and never lets you go. After reading the surprise ending, I might go back and read the book again, to find the many clues I missed the first time. I highly recommend this book as a thrilling read!Product details

Literally, unreadable. More typos than i have ever seen in a book. Hyphens used inappropriately, formatting was horrible, so much so, that I stopped reading after the third page. Disappointed to say the least...
Great mystery with some romance. I couldn't wait to find out who the killer was and the mystery surrounding the old house. The editing was not good as there were some words such as shuttering for shuddering... However, it was hard to put down and I didn't guess who the killer was.
The Last To Know by Lisa M. Caretti had me hooked from the first page. It was suspenseful and slightly dark without being gruesome. Not to give away anything, but there were just enough twists to keep me guessing "whodunit". I couldn't put it down and spent many nights up past my bedtime to keep reading.
The story line is a good psychological read, but there are many grammatical & spelling errors and the formatting is very frustrating. Half pages, blanks (where you have to page forward twice to go to the next page), hyphenated words in the middle of a line of type, spaces in words are rampant. That's why I can give it only 2 stars.
Throughout the whole book I felt like I was a part of the story!! I could almost smell the old house that the main character Bretta Berryman bought and it just continued as though I knew each of the characters as well - especially those nosy neighbor ladies across the street!! I found it exciting and at times really had a hard time figuring out how things were happening so much so that I wanted to flip to the back of the book to find out how it ended!! Can't wait until Lisa Caretti publishes another book!
I loved Lisa Caretti's debut novel, "Whistle in the Dark", and I love this one even more! This is an author worth following! Her characters are interesting and well developed, and she has a gift for creating believable dialogue. Her plot is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and I hope she will be writing a lot more books in the future! I’m a fan!!
I have read both books written by Lisa Caretti and loved them both. The Last to Know keeps you wondering page after page what's really happening and you don't want to put the book down until you know. The very descriptive details of every character and the various story lines help you get interested from page one. I never was so amazed at an ending! I am looking forward to the next book.
